Vale – Prof Trefor Morgan

It is with great sadness that we have learned about the passing of our dear friend, colleague, clinician scientist and wine connoisseur Trefor Morgan.

Trefor was a member of the High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia (HBPRCA) from its humble beginnings. He was a wonderful educator for many generations of physicians, a clinician scientist with the talent of addressing clinically relevant questions with adequate research tools, and a never-tiring advocate for better blood pressure management, both nationally and internationally through many years of service as Secretary of the Asia Pacific Hypertension Society (APSH).

Those good drops of wine you had at several HBPRCA meetings were made by the great man himself, another of his many interests.

Trefor will be sorely missed and Hypertension Australia will honour his achievements and strive to continue his legacy.

A memorial will be held for Trefor on 25 November at the Ormond College Chapel, University of Melbourne, view the flyer here.
