Monitoring your blood pressure at home
There are two types of blood pressure monitoring that are done outside of the doctor’s office.
“Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring” is where you wear a monitor usually over 24 hours, including at night. This helps your doctor detect whether you have high blood pressure during normal daily activities and/or during sleep.
“Home blood pressure monitoring” is when you measure your blood pressure at home, usually with your own device, and provide results to your doctor.
