Keynote speaker
We are honoured to welcome Associate Professor Annet Kirabo from Vanderbilt University. Dr Kirabo is a renowned expert in immune activation in response to hypertensive stimuli, with a focus on the effects of excess dietary salt, sympathetic nerve outflow, and oxidative stress. Her groundbreaking research explores:
- Mechanisms by which hypertensive stimuli lead to isolevuglandin (IsoLG) accumulation in antigen-presenting cells
- The role of IsoLGs in immune system activation
- Novel immunotherapeutic approaches for hypertension and cardiovascular disease
Dr Kirabo will present on the crucial topic of salt and hypertension.
